A Special Review of "To All the Boys I've Loved Before".

The new Netflix Film of Lara Jean (actress Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (actor Noah Centineo), has all of us going dazzy in daydreams. Lara Jean is a simple, sweet and reserved girl who is obsessed with reading about fairy tale love stories and novels. She always dreams of and wants a true love story in her life, but doesn't have the nerve to allow it to happen.

The movie starts with Lara Jean dreaming of a love scene of Josh Sanderson (actor Israel Broussard) and her in a forbidden love trio with her older sister, Margo. Her older sister's boyfriend is her forbidden crush. Of course Lara Jean would never allow herself to end up with or steal her sister's boyfriend, but a girl can dream of being with him in a different life. As she starts to point out further in the story, she noticed Sanderson, first, before her older sister even began to care that he even existed. And as the movie unfolds, further into the scenes of the movie, her older sister seems to break things off with Sanderson, after deciding to just focus on college abroad in Scotland. Lara Jean seems to have a few crushes, however, which all stemmed and began, first, with Sanderson. From him she first discovered what it was to really like and to have feelings for a guy, other than just your typical friendship. She starts writing secret letters to each of these five crushes after learning these feelings. However, Kitty, her younger sister, who is around 11 years old, knew these letters existed after watching her carefully on a regular basis and decided to take matters into her own hands in hopes of giving her sister just exactly what she needed, but was too afraid to do herself. Kitty mails all the letters after Lara snoozes off, alone, during a movie marathon, on a Saturday night, in which Kitty puts it as it is: she "had to cancel plans that night for her", but Lara Jean, as a sad fact, depressingly had "nothing going on", as always.

As the story furthers, one of the letters is mailed to a boy named Peter Kavinsky. Kavinsky seems to be a boy that Lara Jean kissed in elementary school during a "spin the bottle" game in the seventh grade, where her best friend Emilijia got jealous and hurt, and from then on became her long-time enemy, until junior high. Things turned around better for Emilijia though, and her and Peter ended up as the famous high school couple. Because of Peter's charming looks, and Emilijia's fashion and sassy attitude, and all in all, both of their popularity. However, Peter isn't totally happy and when Peter gets the letter in the mail, from little Kitty, he takes chances, and tricks Lara Jean into a "fake" relationship to win back his ex, Emilijia, who supposedly went off with a college boy, and in turn Lara Jean takes the chance, as well, to get away and hide from the fact that her sister's previous boyfriend, Sanderson, just figured out all her feelings for him growing up.

The movie ends with Lara Jean and Peter forgetting their obsessed crushes, and actually falling for each other. Lara is afraid of love, however, because of her mom's death when she was a child, and she feels as if letting people into her life is a more dangerous choice than easy, because as she says, one day they might be gone. After many realizations from family members and close friends, however, she finds that she has met someone who is true to her and knows there is suddenly a reason to take a chance of what she has always dreamed of. She confronts Peter with her feelings and the movie ends happily, with a kiss and a finally, satisfied Peter and a girl who has conquered her fears at first love.
